How our virtual weekend retreat will work

We will meet live on Zoom ~ a free video conferencing platform. Each Creation Session will be approx 5 hours (with lunch and hourly stretching/movement breaks) and will include:

~ A grounding meditation to centre and create an inner space for connecting with your creative courage and inner artist

~ A guided large scale acrylic painting masterclass: follow along step by step, create a full painting start to finish (Beginners welcome!)

~ Open Studio: ask questions and receive live feedback

* The retreat is recorded and yours to keep. Don’t worry if you cannot make the live sessions! The recordings will be available to you as downloadable links for you to keep as long as you wish.

CREATIVE MAGIC SUPPLIES

* Materials are not included, below is the list of supplies you will need for this workshop*

~ 1 large canvas ~ 24x36 inches or larger is recommended, however any size or shape of canvas will work beautifully for this painting. More details on choosing your canvas and preparation for the retreat provided in your welcome email. You will also need one small practice canvas around 16x20”.

~ Acrylic Paint: Linzy will be demonstrating with Liquitex Basics Acrylic. You can use this brand or any acrylic brand that calls to you. Colours needed for this painting: Paynes Grey, Titanium White, Unbleached Titanium, Raw Sienna, Silver, Gold, Primary Red, Hooker's Green Hue Permanent, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Light Blue Permanent, Turquoise, Dioxazine Purple, Mars Black and any other colours that call to you.

~ Modeling Paste Gel Medium (Liquitex or other brand) 8-16oz depending on canvas size. 237ml for canvases 36x48 or smaller. Amazon example click here.

~Pallet knife and Paint Brushes: a 3inch pallet knife and soft synthetic paintbrushes (student grade is perfect). You are painting BIG: make sure you have one paintbrush that is 1.5-2inches wide (filbert style). A teeny tiny brush for intricate details, and a handful of sizes in between both flat and round (filbert) shape. Linzy will be using the following brushes: a large 1.5” filbert (link below), a half inch (0.5”) and 1inch (1”) in both flat and filbert and one small teeny tiny brush for details.

Linzy Arnott

is an international, published, award winning, self taught artist who has been represented in galleries since she was 16 and has been a full time artist since 2011, creating and selling over two thousand paintings. Linzy discovered early in life that the power of art held a depth and level of self expression that far outweighed what she could express through words. A life defining moment in an art museum in DC at 19years old, Linzy became deeply aware that the intention and energy poured into a painting was even more powerful than what a painting looked like, and that this intention could literally touch and heal hearts as it did for her that day. Linzy has been on a soul searching mission since then that has led her to Peru and all around North America, to learn from healers, shamans and mystics, to learn about the power of energy and intention and how to channel pure inspiration into physical form, to create a bridge between the worlds of magic and matter.
